Each day, I never fail to thank God for gifting me with a beautiful and loving wife and two amazing sons. I just couldn't ask for more and could not figure out how I deserved all these wonderful blessings...

Underwater World at Sentosa Island

A must for Sentosa Island first timers like us is to visit the much revered Underwater World. It was not only an exciting visual experience but educational as well as there were mini literature signage for each and every specie swimming in the aquariums.

Last Shots at Plantation Office

Jumbo Dinner

On our very first night in Singapore, our host couple, Ninang Marichin & Ninong Joel brought us to a seaside seafood restaurant called " Jumbo". The place was full and it took us some time to get a table. When the dinner was served and we tasted them, we got the answer why the place was jampacked and why they brought us to this diner. The food was literally finger licking good! Actual finger licking was commited by yours truly and my sons, he he he he.
After the dinner, we strolled on the way back to their house along the beach park although there was some drizzle. It was a lovely evening...

Cable Car to Sentosa Island

An exciting way to reach Sentosa Island from the main island of Singapore is to take a short cable car trip that crosses a forest and some sea. The view was breath taking. It was a first for my family to ride a cable car and so the feelings were heightened. My two sons enjoyed the ride to the fullest which contrasted Bubot's fright. I was just cool and assured her that the cables carrying the car looked very tough and if we fall, the height is not that much, he he he.
Sentosa ( meaning peace and tranquility ) used to be a British military fortress. Now, it is a prime tourist attraction with leisure, recreational and hospitality facilities amidst forest and beach settings.

The Merlion and the Cub

On the way back to Dubai, we had a stopover trip in Singapore to visit our friend Marichin and her husband Joel who are Derico's and Diego's god parents. They insisted to include in our itinerary to pay " homage" to the Merlion and the Cub ( I didn't know before that there was a smaller one or the cub ). They are located by the Esplanade bridge.

The lion head represents the lion spotted by Prince Sang Nila Utama when he rediscovered Singapura in 11 A.D. The fish tail of the Merlion symbolises the ancient city of Temasek ( meaning "sea" in javanese ) by which Singapore was known before the prince named it Singapura ( meaning lion city in sanskrit ) and represents Singapore's humble beginnings as a fishing village.

It has been a sweet pleasure to meet the 8.6 m tall Merlion and the 2 m tall Cub in "real life"...

Tagaytay

On the way back to Manila from Playa Laiya in San Juan Batangas,my friend, Arnold who played the role of our tour guide cum photographer quite seriously, drove us to Tagaytay and brought us to scenic spots for some souvenir shots. We had dinner at a Filipino restaurant in the city over looking the Taal Lake and Volcano.Although it was not our first time to go there, except for Diego, we still enjoyed the cool weather, lovely landscape & topography and the delicious dinner like it was our first time.
