Each day, I never fail to thank God for gifting me with a beautiful and loving wife and two amazing sons. I just couldn't ask for more and could not figure out how I deserved all these wonderful blessings...

Turning Thainese at Ramada Continental

It was more than what we have expected when we dined at Thainese restaurant in Ramada Continental, a hotel close to our flat. Apart from a good selection of Japanese and Thai cuisines plus the warm hospitality of kabayan staff, the place is nestled in an atrium covered by skylight which complemented the garden like interiors of the restaurant. I wonder how it looks at lunch time...
After dinner, we went to the roof deck where the shisha bar and swimming pool are overlooking a good night view of the city.

Al Ghurair City

The not so recent renovation works of brightly colored interiors belie the fact that Al Ghurair City is one of the very first malls in Dubai. It is situated near the busy Fish Roundabout and within walking distance of the residential and office buildings of downtown Dubai. In fact, the mall itself is the podium base of residential and office towers.

Across DM

DM is for Dubai Municipality which is located along Creek Road in downtown Dubai. Across the road is a small park where elaborately painted life size sculptures of horses and camels, UAE's favorite mammals, are installed.Beyond the park runs the Dubai Creek where the so called water taxis ( airconditioned glass walled boats ) ply their route from Bur Dubai to Deira side and vice versa.
One fine friday afternoon, we were invited to a children's party on a dhow ( wooden boat ) cruise by the creek. We came early to take photos at the park and by the water taxi station before going to the boat party.

My Birthday Celebration with Yogis

It has been more than a year since I've met our Guru Jee in his Rhythm of Life Yoga Center in Karama, Dubai. I attended a 10 day yoga course to heal my slipped discs last year and continued to practice the breathing and other yogic exercises since then, although not as religiously as our guru prescribed. Still, my back became a lot better!
Bubot tried the course this year and as traditionally practiced for each batch, there was a "graduation" party held at the center which coincided on my birthday month of August. So, it became a double celebration! Family members of each yoga student were there for the party. Food and drinks were provided pot luck style.
I have become some kind of inspiration for other students who also have back problems, so, I did not hesitate telling them my , well, success story. Meanwhile, the kids played around the center and when they got tired, mimicked the classic meditation posture...

Khasab

Khasab is a town in Oman near the UAE border by Ras Al Khaima emirate. I went there for an overnight stay at Khasab Hotel for residence visa change from my previous employer to a new one. The road trip from Ras Al Khaima to Khasab was a visual pleasure of deserts-beaches-fishing villages-limestone mountains combo! There's nothing to do at night in Khasab, so I just dipped at the hotel's pool and slept early for the next day's early morning trip for a review of the land/seascape view on the way back to UAE.

Hottie People on a Hot August Night

To beat the scorching summer heat of August, I have invited some colleagues at work and dear friends for cold drinks, pulutan and videoke singing. It was also my way of celebrating my 41st birthday which happened weeks before. Before the night ended, we have decided to take some dip and splash at the roof deck swimming pool of our flat building, and showed how hottie all of us can get, he he he...
